Hermann Carriage Rides
Mansions Hermann Carriage Tour
Hermann has mansions? Indeed it does! At least, they were considered such at the time they were built, and they continue to catch our fancy today. Your horse-drawn carriage tour starts downtown where Hermann's oldest homes are situated. The carriage ride continues across town to the mansions and stately homes of prominent Hermann figures such as George Stark and Michael Poeschel. Other sites along the way include Hermann's famous Rotunda building and a 139-year-old bandstand in the city park.
Tours depart from the corner of First and Gutenberg streets near the Amtrak station and last approximately 45 minutes.
PRICE: $25 per adult; $10 per child age 4-12; FREE for children age 3 and under on laps.
Reservations suggested. Carriage seats up to 6 people.

Downtown Hermann Carriage Tour
Enjoy a scenic carriage ride through the streets of downtown Hermann, and discover the story behind this quaint German-American town. While listening to the clip-clop of the horses, you can imagine what life was like before the age of the automobile and how challenging it must have been for settlers to carve a living from this rocky wilderness.
Tours depart from the corner of First and Gutenberg streets near the Amtrak station and last approximately 20 minutes, depending on how fast -- or slow -- the horses go.
PRICE: $15 for adults; $5 per child age 4-12; FREE for children age 3 and under on laps.
Reservations suggested. Carriage seats up to 6 people.

Holiday Carriage Ride
There’s nothing quite as magical as a horse-drawn carriage ride during the holidays. Riding through streets lined with Christmas lights as sleigh bells ring stirs up nostalgic images of Christmastime. The owners are happy to share the history of Hermann along the way or help you sing your favorite Christmas carols. Bring a blanket and cozy up with your special someone or make it a fun family outing.
During COVID-19 pandemic, carriage capacity is limited to two couples if not part of the same group. Private rides for couples are also available, and we can accommodate private groups up to 6 people (or more if children can ride on laps). Please call or text (636) 667-1174 to make special arrangements.
Ride departs from the corner of First and Gutenberg streets in front of the red caboose and lasts approximately 20 minutes.
PRICE: $15 per adult; $5 per child age 4-12; FREE for children age 3 and under on laps.
